ShowLef privacy policy

What ShowLef does

ShowLef is a Chrome extension that works together with the free ShowLef program installed on your Windows PC. When you click Download, the extension sends the address of the media, the page title, a thumbnail address and the cookies of that site to the ShowLef program on the same computer, so that the program can download exactly what the page shows you.

What we collect

The Chrome extension sends nothing to us: it talks only to the ShowLef program on your own computer (Chrome native messaging). To be activated, the program asks you once to sign in with Google: we then receive your name and e-mail address, used only to tell you about updates and to answer your messages. Once a day the program sends a random installation number, its version, its language and the Windows version, to count active installations. Your browsing, the list of your downloads and your files never leave your computer. No advertising; nothing is sold or shared. The account picture comes from Gravatar (only a hash of your e-mail address is sent to it).

What stays on your computer

Your settings (language, quality, folders) are kept in Chrome storage and in the program folder on your PC. The list of your downloads is kept by the program on your PC. You can delete everything by uninstalling the program and removing the extension.

Downloads

Files are downloaded directly from the site you are visiting to your computer. They never pass through our servers. The installer of the program is downloaded from ext.i-call.me.
